For many vintage fashionistas, their love of vintage doesn’t end with clothing and accessories. Somehow this obsession can find its way into all the nooks and crannies of life…furniture, linens, tableware, and yes, even luggage. Take today’s VPOD for example.
This 1970s Samsonite vanity case sports a mod black-and-white Marimekko design on the exterior and a punchy orange lining. It’s in mint condition with the original key and would look smashing on the arm of a globe-trotting vintage fashionista!

The Finnish company Marimekko was founded in 1951 in Helsinki by Armi and Viljo Ratia. Famous for brightly colored print fabrics and simple designs, the company became even more famous when Jackie Kennedy wore Marimekko during the 1960 Presidential campaign.
Today’s VPOD is in Mint condition, new old stock from the early 1970s with tags attached. Both the fabric, called Keidas, and the dress design, called Jarana, are by Annika Rimala. It was hand silk-screened in Finland and would make a lovely spring frock for a vintage fashionista!
