It’s the time of year when many of us are feeling the “winter blues.” This milder form of SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder, primarily affects women. The good news is that the symptomatic tiredness and lack of energy usually subsides by March or April, and the remedy can be as simple as taking a one-hour walk outdoors every day.
Of course, you can also throw those blues right back at ’em. Today’s VPOD features an electric blue vintage python bag that does double duty: use it as a clutch or, if it’s one of those ultra-lazy days, just throw it over your shoulder with the detachable strap.
It’s a blues-banishing find for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Vintage Skins.

Can you handle it? The handle on this handbag,I mean. It’s so structural, so architectural, so scream-out-loud fabulous! (Yes, little things like this get me very excited.)
Now I’d buy whatever bag was attached to this handle even if it was ratty, torn-up, moth-eaten–whatever! But the good news is that this unique little guy is attached to a fantastic tapestry bag that’s in great condition and primped up with skinny leather stripes.
What a perfect combination for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Modern Handbag.

I’ve often joked that I’ll know when I’ve met my soulmate because he’ll propose with a vintage Birkin bag and not a diamond engagement ring. And if, like moi, you love all things Hermes, then you’ll thoroughly enjoy the madcap adventures of Michael Tonello in his memoir Bringing Home the Birkin: My Life in Hot Pursuit of the World’s Most Coveted Handbag.
Then, when you’re salivating for something Hermes to call your own, hustle on over to Artcurial’s live eBay auction. Known as the foremost auction house in Paris, Artcurial now has hundreds of Hermes goodies on the auction block including today’s VPOD.
This clutch may be just a distant cousin to the famous Hermes Birkin bag, but it still carries utterly fabulous genes.
And it’s a coveted find for a vintage fashionista!
Available at eBay Live Auctions.
