I just wanted to toot my own horn for a moment and let everyone know that Zuburbia has been named a 2010 All-Star Award Winner by Constant Contact for the second year in a row.
I’m very proud of this award because it’s partially based on email open and click-through rates and it shows just how engaged all of my email readers are!
I’m also proud because it recogizes my commitment to all of you that I will never, EVER share or sell your information with other companies, I make it super-easy to unsubscribe from my lists at any time (although I’m always sad to see you go), and I only mail to readers who legitimately opt-in to my lists (unlike many, many other companies who are illegally scrubbing names from websites and blogs).
Thank you for allowing me to share my Zuburbian insights with you daily and please continue to share your thoughts with me via email, Facebook and Twitter.

(That’s hugs and kisses Zuburbia style!)
Certainly we’ve all heard the expression April Showers Bring May Flowers. And while it’s tempting to take the expression quite literally, it’s far more enriching to ponder its deeper meaning: that sometimes you have to experience something unpleasant in order to experience something better.
Whether that’s sweating through a cardio class to make sure you continue to fit into your favorite jeans, trading a year of weekends for a degree that will earn you a promotion at work, or renting your current abode with its miniscule closet long enough to ensure you can make a full 20% deposit on your first home, sometimes you just have to keep your eye on the prize.
Fortunately, today’s VPOD will take you through actual April showers in style and won’t cause too much pain in your pocketbook.
This vintage raincoat by Count Romi has a bold wallpaper print that is completely unexpected for a piece of raingear and is sure to dazzle in both drizzles and downpours alike.
It’s a fine April find for a vintage fashionista!

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something…Pink?!
Oh, yes! For her recent marriage to Bill Toth, Reese Witherspoon looked radiant by opting-out of traditional white and opting-in to a custom-designed pink wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier.
And any budding brides can follow her lead with today’s VPOD.
This vintage 1960s brocade and feather caped wedding dress will make you feel like a princess without hiding your killer legs under layers of lace and tulle.
It’s a beautiful bridal find for a vintage fashionista!

A gal known as The Style Bard was the lucky Vintage Crusader who won the drawing for two free passes to the AFINGO Fashion Forum in NYC last week and she’s posted a wonderful little recap on her blog along with some interesting takeaway quotes. Check it out!
