Those of you who have been Zuburbia readers for a while know that I have this thing for peacocks. In fact, when I re-launch my new online vintage boutique in Spring 2009, you can expect to see peacock feathers incorporated into the new company logo. So it was simply impossible for me not to feature today’s VPOD.
This 1970s suit by Janice Wainwright is exquisitely embroidered and appliqued with my friend, the peacock. And while the back of the jacket may take center stage, this highly respected designer didn’t forget about the wings. Every stitch is stunningly tailored and the matching belt even has peacock feathers at each end.
It’s a sure-fire way to feel proud as a peacock for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Vintage-A-Peel.co.uk.
