VPOD: Vintage 1950s Antoine Blanchard Clutch

vintage 1950s antoine blanchard clutch

It’s a good thing that I’m living in a city that has some amazing art museums because it seems the older I become the more interested I become in art. With The Getty Center, LACMA, the MOCA and the Hammer all just a hop, skip and jump from my apartment, I really have no excuse not to indulge my growing interest.

And just like hearing your favorite band live in concert is a totally different experience than listening to their album on your ipod, getting up close and personal with art is a totally different experience than learning about it from books or the internet.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that today’s VPOD caught my interest. This vintage 1950s clutch handbag features a painting that was licensed for use from Antoine Blanchard, a popular impressionist artist most well-known for his Parisian street scenes.

Sure you may never be able to afford one of his paintings since they sell for thousands and thousands of dollars, but you can certainly save up a few twenties to carry this unique little handbag.

It’s a true artistic find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Jen Fitch Style.
