VPOD: Vintage 1970s Monet Patriotic Necklace

vintage 1970s monet red white and blue necklace

As we head into the Memorial Day three-day weekend, I think it’s important to pause and remember that the intention of Memorial Day is not to give workers an extra day off or to provide an excuse for the season’s first barbecue. It’s a designated time for Americans to pause, reflect and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country protecting the freedoms that each of each enjoy (and often take for granted) daily.

So whatever your plans this weekend, please pause at 3 pm on Monday for the National Moment of Remembrance and, in your own way, pause, reflect and honor our fallen soldiers.

Another way to show that you are remembering the meaning of the day is to make an effort to wear the colors of the flag and today’s VPOD, a 1970s vintage necklace by Monet, is a fine way to do just that.

It’s a patriotic find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Posh Vintage.

P.S. There will be no VPOD on Memorial Day. The next scheduled edition returns Tuesday, June 1.
