VPOD: Vintage 1960s Mike Benet Mad Men Evening Gown

Whoops, they did it again! Mad Men took honors for Best Dramatic Television Series for the third year in a row at this year’s Golden Globes. And while I tune in for the banter and confrontations and day-to-day happenings at Sterling Cooper, as a vintage fashionista, it’s an extra-special treat to view costume designer Jane Bryant’s hard work each week.

If you’re not yet a fan of the series, you have plenty of time to catch up on Seasons 1 and 2 before AMC’s encore presentation of Season 3 begins March 21. Then you’ll be all caught up and ready to enjoy the highly-anticipated premiere of Season 4.

But be forewarned: after watching all the glamorous female characters, you may, like many American women, decide to ditch your jeans and glam it up a bit yourself. It seems Jane Bryant has single-handedly created an increased demand for figure-hugging dresses, glamorous peignoirs, and spaghetti straps.

If that’s the case, turn towards today’s VPOD. This glitzy 1960s gown by Mike Benet in emerald green has a beautiful beaded bodice and makes a great accessory for a highball or a dry martini.

It’s a fabulous Mad Men find for a vintage fashionista!
