Do you think outside the box? Creativity trainers teach that it’s difficult to solve problems as long as we think “inside” the box created by our assumptions. Our habitual ways of thinking keeps us trapped from seeing other possibilities.

So are you able to think outside the “fashion” box? Take today’s VPOD for instance. This 1920s beaded Art Nouveau handbag was made in France with glass and steel beads and has an interesting off-center placement of the flap and the prettiest combination of white, turquoise and coral. Something this fancy and sparkly would be put on a shelf with your evening bags, right? Au contraire! While it makes a fine evening bag, a fashionista thinking outside the fashion box would grab it for a luncheon with a white linen dress or snag it for cocktails with her jeans and high heels. Labeling it an evening bag just limits its potential.
