The Huffington Post reported this week that giant snails are being used by Russian scientists to monitor air pollution being emitted from a sewage incinerator. That’s right, scientists have strapped heart monitors onto a species of snails that have lungs and breathe just as we humans do. As if we don’t already know that pollution causes all sorts of health issues!
It seems to me that scientists would be better served working on solving out pollution problems instead of measuring its effects on innocent snails. Especially when you consider that snails evolved more than 600 million years ago and are still thriving despite mankind’s continuing efforts to destroy our environment.
Why a few of them even managed to maneuver their way into today’s VPOD!
This vintage 1960s Vested Gentress dress is simply darling and is you look closely, you’ll see quite a few cleverly disguised snails inching their way through the print.
It’s a charming springtime find for a vintage fashionista!
