VPOD: Kerry Taylor Does It Again

Imagine a career that involves Princess Diana’s wedding gown, the wedding suit of King James II c. 1670, and the wardrobes of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. It’s all in a day’s work for Kerry Taylor.

Kerry Taylor was one of the youngest auctioneers in Sotheby’s history and worked with them for over 20 years before leaving to found her own independent auction house specializing in costumes and textiles. And each sale is a veritable treasure trove of some of the finest vintage clothing and fashion collectibles on the planet!

Today’s VPOD features Lot #1205 from her upcoming auction on Tuesday October 27 in London. This 1930s backless beaded evening gown with its ostrich-trimmed ivory damask cape is simply stunning.

If you have a minute or two–or sixty!–browse the entire auction catalog here. Each item is showcased with several large clear pictures and educational and informative descriptions.

And don’t worry if you fall in love with something because you can always arrange to bid by phone or online.

It’s a very exciting auction event for a vintage fashionista!
