VPOD: A Gem of a Faux Pas

Red Carpet Rule #1: Know who you’re wearing!

I’m sure many of you caught Cameron Diaz’s fashion faux pas last evening at the 80th Annual Academy Awards. While she was well aware she was wearing a Dior gown, she had to whisper into her publicist’s ear to find out who loaned her the jewels. Just for the record, here’s what she was wearing according to Bvlgari’s website:

*Platinum earrings with 2 radiant cut diamonds, pink diamonds and 24 Pear Shaped Diamonds (7.94cts).

*18kt white gold ring with 1 round brilliant cut diamond (4.02 cts), round brilliant cut diamonds (5.12 cts) and diamond pave (2.97 cts).

*18kt yellow gold and smoke diamond ring.

Sorry, but I find it shameful she wasn’t able to give Bvlgari the deserved shout-out for lending her these beautiful gems–especially since she’s far from a newbie and has been down this red carpet road many times. So I’ve selected a stunning 2004 Bvlgari cocktail ring as today’s VPOD.

It features pear cut purple, yellow, pink-purple, light blue and orange sapphires along with high color pave set diamonds in a feminine floral shape and would have looked fantastic with Cameron’s dusty pink strapless Dior.

It’s a sparkling find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Beladora.
