VPOD: Vintage 1950s Taxco Sterling Fish Pendant Necklace

vintaeg 1950s sterling Taxco fish pendant necklace

Today is Chinese New Year and rings in the Year of the Rabbit. And one of the ways that this major holiday is celebrated revolves around food.

For instance, in China it is traditional to serve a whole fish at the end of the today’s evening meal. Note that it’s a whole fish that is served, with the head and tail intact. This fish symbolizes abundance for the coming year, with a good beginning (the head) and a good ending (the tail).

Of course, as a vegetarian, I won’t be dining on fish today although I must say I like the symbolism in this tradition and wouldn’t be averse to a little abundance heading my way. So enter today’s VPOD.

This vintage 1950s Taxco sterling fish pendant is my vegetarian (and eco-friendly) alternative to eating fish.

It’s a stylish way to ring in the Chinese New Year for a vintage fashionista.

Available at California Dreamin Retro Modern ETC.
