VPOD: Vintage Carlos Falchi Leather Belts

I’m back at home-sweet-home after my trip to eastern Pennsylvania and perhaps the most exciting part of my journey happened before I even left LAX.

It’s there where I had my first close encounter with the new backscatter x-ray scanners in the security line. And being the health freakazoid that I am, it should be no surprise that in order to avoid exposing myself to unnecessary ionizing radiation, I opted for the manual pat down by a female TSA worker.

And while this option is definitely healthier than the alternative, I warn you that it is not for the faint of heart! Every single solitary inch of your body will be stroked, patted and examined for weapons of any kind — all while you stand spread-eagled in front of hundreds of strangers!

Now I endured this security procedure for what seemed like an hour (although I’m sure it couldn’t have been more than a few minutes tops). And to distract myself, I started paying attention to my lucky fellow travelers who had the good fortune to be in the lines with the standard metal detectors.

Now whether you’re a frequent traveler or a once-a-year flier, it just makes sense to cooperate and do everything you can to make the required security procedures quick and easy. So what did I see causing people the most problems? Jewelry and belts with metal buckles.

It just makes sense to keep your necklaces and bracelets packed until you get through security and to opt for today’s VPOD.

These vintage leather belts by Carlos Falchi will let you breeze through airport security checkpoints with plenty of style but without setting off any alarms. I just love the ruching plus their adjustable ties will provide a little extra wiggle room on your return trip if you over-indulge in goodies during your journey.

They’re fab traveling companions for a vintage fashionista!
