VPOD: Vintage 1960s Autumn Landscape Wool Dress and Reverse Trick-or-Treating

vintage 1960s wool dress

When I was a little girl, Halloween was always my favorite holiday of the year, even beating out Christmas. I was a little performer back then and Halloween was all about performing.

You see, in my neighborhood, no one just handed out candy with a simple exclamation of “Trick or Treat!”

No, no, no. For some reason, this little block of Pennsylvania expected a song, a joke, a magic trick or some other form of short entertainment.

Of course, if I were a child again now in the 21st century, I’d definitely be one of the thousands of children who will participate in Reverse Trick-or-Treating.

What’s Reverse Trick-or-Treating? Well, instead of asking for treats you give them away!

Young activists across the US and Canada will be joining together to help end poverty and abusive child labor in the cocoa industry, protect the environment and promote Fair Trade by handing out fair trade chocolate on Halloween night to the their families, neighbors and friends.

If you want your children to participate, order your kit from the Global Exchange (which includes 150 cards and 150 pieces of vegan chocolate) by October 8.

Then grab today’s VPOD, a fantastic vintage 1960s Halloween-hued wool dress from France, throw on some boots and gleam with pride as you watch your children act like responsible citizens of the world.

It’s a fine find for an eco-conscious vintage fashionista!

Available at Miss Farfalla.
