VPOD: A Nice Tice

Bill Tice was a fashion designer who was perhaps best known for stylish robes and loungewear. But with the recent trend to take lingerie out of the bedroom and into public, one can’t always tell what original purpose a designer had in mind for a garment. Today’s VPOD is just one example.

This 1970s vintage dress was designed by Bill Tice for Saks Fifth Avenue. But I wonder what department it was sold in. Was it originally sold in the Lingerie department? I mean, it’s certainly sexy and slinky enough for some private lounging at home. But this design also offers enough coverage and pizazz to take out on the town. That bold combination of fuchsia pink, black piping and stunning stained glass panel could have also adorned a mannequin in the Juniors department.

Either way, it’s a very nice Tice for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Posh Girl Vintage.
