VPOD: Get Your Wilma On

This season’s runways were packed with asymmetrical, one-shoulder dresses making the oft-forgotten shoulder the body part to bare this spring and summer. And while most designers attribute their inspiration for these designs to the Greek toga, one has to wonder if a little lady by the name of Wilma Flintstone, hailing from the Stone Age town of Bedrock and sporting a simple one-shoulder mini, didn’t act as a muse as well.

Today’s VPOD is a vintage version of the current fashion trend designed by Mary McFadden in the 1980s. Fortuny-style pleats drape oh-so-elegantly in classic muted tones of peach and taupe. Just keep accessories to a minimum–earrings and bracelets will usually work better with this style than necklaces.

It’s a “yabbadabbadoo” find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at C. Madeleine’s Vintage Clothes.
