VPOD: Melon Marvel

At first glance you might look at today’s VPOD and think “Ceil Chapman” but think again. This absolutely gorgeous dress is the result of the combined talents of Harvey Berin (manufacturer) and Karen Stark (designer). From the 1940s through the 1970s they adapted Paris couture for the American market with fabulous results. Just look at this featured party dress!

It’s a scrumptious melon color that is perfect for showing off a summer tan. And the detail on the silk organza is incredible–pearls, rhinestones, sequins and embroidery that should be overkill but instead give a fresh, feminine feel.

It’s a charmer for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage Textile.
