VPOD: Later Alligator

Both alligator and crocodile are considered to be high quality leathers and carry high prices. So how do you tell them apart and more importantly, how do you know a bag is authentic? Unfortunately, you can find bags with inside markings that say “alligator” that are actually crocodile and a bag marked “croc” could actually be alligator. What’s a vintage fashionista to do? Get educated here.

Then you’ll fully appreciate the years of care and the outstanding workmanship of this hornback alligator bag from the 1900s. Someone lovingly cared for this bag over the years as the skins are still supple and glistening. And what amazing texture!

It’s a classic and collectible find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage Bag.
