VPOD: Go Mod

Red makes us stop and pay attention due to all the cultural references we’ve come to accept: stop signs, stop lights, fire engines, exit signs and even the red flag in auto racing. So if you want to be noticed, I’m not sure there’s a better color choice than red. And today’s VPOD is a fine example.

This 1960s vintage coat was made in England where the whole Mod movement originated. It’s sure to be noticed with its space-age look and bold color scheme. The wide cream cuffs and waistband are accented with stripes of blue. A silver belt buckle and mandarin collar complete the look.

It’s a fab way to go mod for a vintage fashionista!

VPOD: A Mod Marvel

Since I was born in the 60s I never got to wear the great mod and space-age clothing of that era. Maybe that’s why I gravitate toward it now. I love the simple lines and strong shapes.

Today’s VPOD evokes that same feeling. It’s a long wool knit dress in a lovely dusty purple with a bold graphic inset panel in black and tan. A matching vest that picks up the graphic completes the look.

A mod find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage Martini.
