I am so very excited to be one of about 250 “tastemakers” asked to participate in a brand new online commerce site that’s bringing the old-fashioned experience of shopping on Main Street to the wide, wonderful Internet.
The venture is called The Open Sky Project, and it’s the brainchild of John Caplan, who was previously CEO of Ford Models and head of marketing at About.com. Together, we’re all trying to re-create the experience of a shopkeeper who knows her customers names and can make product recommendations that will be honest and meaningful to them.
I like to think of it as my own little version of “Oprah’s Favorite Things.” It’s an opportunity for me to share with all of you products that get my green blood boiling, that are unique and interesting, or that just make my heart sing.
