Today’s modern woman thinks nothing of blow-drying her short hair, slipping into a skirt and blouse, driving to work and then heading out for a cocktail at the end of the day. But all these things wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the rebellion of the young ladies of the 1920s known as Flappers. These woman–gasp!–showed their knees, exercised their independence, embraced their sexuality and did it all with style.
But today’s VPOD doesn’t feature one of the infamous Flapper dresses. No, instead I chose this sensational top, which combines the spirit of the Flapper with a more contemporary sensibility. Made in the 1960s from vibrant 1920s fabric and fringe trim, it shimmers and shakes in equal measure.
What a fabulous flapper find for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Circa Vintage.
