VPOD: Vintage 1960s Oscar de la Renta Winning Dress

In 1992, Oscar de la Renta made fashion history when he became the first American designer to work in French haute couture at the house of Balmain. One of my all-time favorite designers, he is known for his ability to take simple shapes and silhouettes and imbue them with elegance and glamour.

In today’s VPOD, he works his magic on the Little Black Dress. This 1960s gem in black silk satin has a completely sequined upper bodice and sleeves and somehow it’s the perfect combination of sparkle and shine.

What a sophisticated find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Hemlock Vintage.
