VPOD: Bright and Lacy

One of the favorite parts of my job is talking with women (or men) who are interested in selling a collection of vintage clothing. Sometimes I’ll reminisce with the woman herself, hearing stories of where each and every piece was purchased or worn. Sometimes it’s the children or grandchildren relating the stories. Often, especially with evening wear, there is an emotional attachment to a dress or gown or coat. Very often it’s associated with a particular and important event in someone’s life. And I believe that when you have a chance to own these items and know their history, it’s an extra special treat.

For example, today’s eye-catching blouse is from the collection of Renata Cicioni of Buenos Aires, Argentina–the former wife of a count, the widow of a prominent landowner and horsebreeder and a well-known social figure and philanthropist. The yellow silk features hand-stitched black lace and a low slung belt at the hips. And it’s just one of many beautiful pieces being offered from her collection.

A true one-of-a-kind find for a vintage fashionista!
