I admit to not being the biggest fan of traditional quilt patterns but I do love the modern designs of Terry Aske.
She’s an exhibited and award-winning quilter who specializes in fiber art wall hangings.
The tipi (yes, tipi!) on the left has been accepted into the Tactile Architecture exhibit and will be touring international quilt festivals until September 2013. The quilt of downtown Vancouver on the right has been submitted to the Quilt Canada 2013 National Juried Show and will be available for shipping after the show closes.
But don’t despair if you can’t wait that long to snag one of her beauties. Just commission Terry to create a personal quilt inspired by one of your favorite photos.
Simply send her a favorite photo of a family gathering, loved one or pet and she’ll design a custom quilted wall hanging based on the photo. You choose the size, color palette, complexity and — voila! — you have a coveted family heirloom.
