VPOD: Vintage Do the 80s Knit Cocktail Dress

Ah, the 80s! For me, they were about pregnancy, childbirth, infancy and toddlerhood. That left precious little time for obsessing about fashion (although I do admit to occasionally sneaking a peek at Vogue during midnight feedings and teething sessions).

Having been MIA from the 80s fashion scene then, you might think I’d be thrilled with the recent 80s revival and my chance to step out in peplum waists, big shoulders, sequins and lame. But fashion from this decade of excess and ostentation doesn’t tend to mesh well with my current simplified, organic lifestyle.

Until I spied today’s VPOD. This body-conscious 1980s knit cocktail dress with jacket has a structured, architectural design that this strong, modern, assertive woman would be happy to wear–with a killer pair of high heels, of course.

It’s a fine way to do the 80s for a vintage fashionista!
