Daniel Swarovski was born in what is today the Czech Republic and learned to cut glass in his father’s small factory. In 1892 he invented a machine that revolutionized crystal cutting, filed for a patent and then founded Swarovski in 1895. Today his company is run by fourth and fifth generation family members and has become an international enterprise.

Today’s VPOD features a beautiful 1940s chocolate silk evening bag adorned with Swarovski’s magical rhinestones in an unusual artistic design.
