VPOD: Vintage 1920s Black (Beaded) Beauty

In an era of disposability, there’s something very calming about surrounding yourself with timelessness.

For instance, perhaps you remember reading Black Beauty as a child. This story was published in the late 1800s by Anna Sewell, and has become a children’s classic–perhaps the most famous animal story of all time. It’s beloved around the world because its tale and lessons are timeless–not restricted to a particular time or date–and that makes the story as enjoyable today as it was a century ago.

Today’s VPOD is a different kind of black beauty but it’s also timeless. Dating from the 1920s when King Tut’s tomb was opened and spurred an interest in all things Egyptian, this fringe necklace features teardrop-shaped French glass beads that move when you move. And when you wear it, that movement will remind you of its timelessness–for who knows how many women have been adorned with its beauty in the past or how many more will enjoy it in the future.

Yes, it’s a beautiful timeless find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Ambers Attic.

A very nice VPOD and goes to show how timeless jewelry is. This necklace is as wearable today as it was during the 1920’s.
