VPOD: Baby Oh Baby

When Carroll Baker starred in the 1956 movie Baby Doll she wore a short little nightie that soon became a “must-have” fashion item and shortly transitioned into daywear. Ta-dah! The babydoll dress was born.

These flirty dresses with forgiving fits are more popular than ever (perhaps fueled by all the Hollywood actresses who love to wear them to camouflage and deny their pregnancies). But there’s no denying that they are fun and ultra-comfy to wear. The only challenge is finding one in a cut and fabric that won’t make you look too, well…babyish.

Enter today’s VPOD. An original born in the 1960s, this silk crepe baby doll has a chic, grown-up appeal. And yes, that is a Pucci print!

What a great Spring dress for vintage fashionista!

Available at The Cat’s Meow.
