Maybe you were one of those lucky people who always knew what they wanted to be when they grew up. Not me. I probably changed my mind twenty times before I hit high school. The list included such varied professions as international journalist, heart surgeon and textile designer. And with that love of fabrics, you can imagine why this little frock stopped me in my tracks.

The variegated jewel tones of the dyed silk used in this dress are simply stunning. And what luck that the fabric was masterfully draped by Guy Laroche in a flowing, comfortable design. Just think–he turned out this beauty in the 1970s just a few decades into a career that began with no formal design experience!

What a chic way to color the world of a vintage fashionista!
