Claude Montana is best known for his glamorous furs and his sexy leathers. And while he tended to use huge shoulder pads and bright colors along with exaggerated proportions, he confessed to a personal admiration for the simple forms of Vionnet and Madame Gres.

Today’s VPOD features one of his magnificent leather jackets done in buttery soft red leather. It fastens with an oversize buckle and features biker-like zippers on the sleeves. The design, which also features a rear cape and peplum, is called “Mateau Court.”

And it’s a regal find for a vintage fashionista!
