Whiting & Davis began making metal mesh by hand in the 1800s. Although today it’s machine-made, Whiting & Davis is still the major supplier of wholesale mesh for fashion designers around the world.
Today’s VPOD features a 1970s vintage scarf made of the famous Whiting & Davis liquid mesh. Though lightweight like cloth, it’s formed from interlocking metal links. And though this scarf design may have been quite popular during the Disco Era, this purple color is much more rare than the common silver or gold versions.
It’s a fun accessory for a vintage fashionista!
