VPOD: A Pretty Patou

Jean Patou is perhaps one of the most influential fashion designers of the early twentieth century and he certainly left his mark. According to at least one source, he is the first designer to have used his initials on his clothing. Even so, he is probably most famous for his perfume, Joy, which used the almost-as-famous tagline: “the most expensive perfume in the world.”

Today’s VPOD features one of his designs from the 1960s–an absolutely darling silk pocket mini-dress with buttoned shoulders. The A-line design is simple but the details and workmanship hint of couture.

It’s a pretty Patou for a vintage fashionista!
