I recently sold a little terry cloth dress by Azzedine Alaia, and I do mean little. It was mostly straps and could have been mistaken for a washcloth when folded up! So it comes as no surprise that the buyer was young and had a killer bod. But it’s possible to wear Alaia without baring miles of skin. Just look at today’s VPOD.
This burgundy wool dress with asymmetrical hemline in simply fabulous. To see it hanging on a rack, well, you might be tempted to pass it by. But the fitting room is a vintage fashionista’s best friend. Take the time to try this on and that’s when the magic happens. That’s when the designer’s talent for cut and draping takes over and the dress comes alive.
It’s a fabulous pre-fall find for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Jeanne Suica.
