VPOD: Vintage 1950s Polka Dot Princess Dress

Some of the most recognizable polka dot outfits haven’t adorned statuesque models but rather a two-dimensional celebrity: Miss Minerva Mouse–you know her as Minnie. This beloved Walt Disney character often sported polka dots and well, she got her man didn’t she? Of course, I’m not suggesting that we should all start modeling the fashions of cartoon characters, but we shouldn’t discount the power of the polka dot either.

Take a look at today’s VPOD. This 1950s dress is simply darling with its satin bodice and its black net polka dot skirt. Add the satin waist band and the diamante clasp and you may just fall in love with polka dots all over again.

It’s a very pretty find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Mary Moore Vintage.
