VPOD: On Target

Isaac Mizrahi graduated from the Parsons School of Design long before his affiliation with Target. He says he was often inspired by his mother’s wardrobe which included great American designers like Norman Norell.

Much more than a fashion designer, he’s become a fashion personality. He was the subject of the documentary film, Unzipped which captured him and his 1994 fall collection, and he wrote a one-man show about his life entitled LES MIZrahi, which debuted in New York in 2000 to good reviews.

It’s easy to see his talent as a designer in today’s VPOD. This gorgeous evening gown is made of a uniquely shaded silk charmeuse and invokes the lines of those fabulous bias-cut gowns of the 1930s. Plus the wide chiffon panels that make up the bodice can be tied in a multitude of ways depending on your mood and the occasion.

It’s a beautiful find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage Textile.
