VPOD: Vintage 1980s Abstract Knit Wool Cape

Vintage 1980 Knit Wool Cape

As a general rule of thumb, fashions enter the world of vintage when they turn 20 years old. And as someone pointed out on Twitter recently, that means that the 1990s have officially become vintage! Now I certainly don’t think that the market for classic little black dresses, fabulous evening gowns and pristine flapper dresses is going anywhere, but with so many younger girls becoming so excited about wearing vintage, I do think we’re going to see a growing market for more inexpensive, hip pieces from the 1980s and 1990s.

Today’s VPOD is a fine example of this. Today’s twenty-something’s—even today’s thirty-somethings and forty-somethings—are sure to love this abstract knit wool cape that just celebrated it’s own twenty-something birthday. Made in the 1980s, it’s a perfect vintage choice to wear with 2010’s trendy shoe boots, leggings, and layers of chain necklaces.

And with a price tag that doesn’t require a personal loan from a bank, it’s also an affordable treat for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Nasty Gal Vintage.
