VPOD: VIntage 1970s Laura Ashley Corduroy Cape

While gurus and self-help books may advise you to live in the present, vintage fashionistas know that it makes good financial sense to think one season ahead. Now’s the time to be scouring thrift stores and websites for the pieces you’ll be wearing this fall.

And yes, I know it’s tough to think wool when the temperature is screaming cotton, but when you spy something that stops you in your tracks, you simply must–must–buy it when you see it! I’ve never truly regretted any vintage purchase I’ve made since I can always give it away to a friend, sell it on eBay or consign it with a shop if I change my mind. But, oh, how I’ve regretted some of the pieces I let get away!

Today’s VPOD is a perfect example of an off-season find that is sure to become a favorite down the road. With this early 1970s corduroy cape by Laura Ashley in hand, you can cross this trend off your fall must-have list. Casual enough to throw over jeans, it has just enough style to pair with tweed trousers or a wool skirt, too.

And that makes it a versatile fall find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Vintage-A-Peel.
