President Obama just concluded his Nuclear Security Summit this morning. This two-day event in Washington gathered the leaders of 47 nations to brainstorm how to keep nuclear materials out of the hands of terrorists. And I thought we’d mark this serious occasion with today’s VPOD and a salute to the peace sign.
The iconic Peace Sign was designed back in 1958 by the British artist, Gerald…

If your vintage jewelry tastes are more sleek and modern than sparkly and glitzy, then you should turn your attention to the talented husband and wife team of Micheline de Passille and Yves Sylvestre. These Canadians began their shop in 1960 and specialized in enameling jewelry and tableware.
Today’s VPOD features a lovely trio of vintage pendant necklaces by the talented pair. These modernist styles from…

As a vintage fashionista, when I do choose a new item, I admit that I think of future value. I usually ask myself, “Is this something that I’d like to pass on to my granddaughter someday?” And if it is, do I think that it’s timeless enough that she’ll appreciate the gift!
So today I present the first Future VPOD. This leaf bib necklace by Michelle…

We should all give a hoot about owls because they play a very important role in the environment. These predators are masters at controlling small animal populations. In fact, barn owls can search over 100 acres a night looking for food and just one barn owl can consume 25,000 mice per year! I had the pleasure of walking the gardens at the Getty Museum this weekend where the maze of bushes was ablaze with red blooms. Today’s VPOD evokes that same beauty which is not surprising since it’s a 1960s piece by Miriam Haskell. Many of her early designs were inspired by nature and all of her designs were meticulously constructed.
Today’s spectacular bib necklace features seven—count’em seven–hanging…
