Do you keep a Bucket List? I do! And one item on my list of 100 Things to Do Before I Die is take an African Safari. But at the rate that species are becoming extinct, I’m hopeful that there will still be leopards, rhinos, and elephants to be seen by the time I get there.

The Bishop family has owned and operated Oregon’s Pendleton Woolen Mills for six generations, producing some of the most beautiful, high-quality woolen goods to be found. But long before there was Mac, with a capital M, there were macs, with a lower-case M. Mention a mac…

Boy, have times changed! I’m on my way to a business lunch in white jeans and a vintage silk tank and necklace. But I remember when I started my business career in the early 1980s. Back then I attended any lunch in a suit, panty hose and closed-toe shoes. Not because I wanted to. Oh no, no, no, Because I was required to. Don’t you love…

Under current California law, a garment must have at least $150 worth of fur before it requires a label stating it’s made from real animal fur. But that may be about to change thanks to the work of California Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, D-San Francisco.
At the request of The Human Society of the United States, she has introduced a bill in the California legislature that would…

Talk about balanced reporting! Today’s New York Times featured two fashion articles that talk about fur: “Fashion Feels Furs Warm Embrace” reported that almost 2/3 of designers showing in New York used real fur in their collections (shame! shame!) while “Can Sackcloth Have Fur Trim” detailed Karl Lagerfeld’s use of what he calls “fantasy furs” which are (surprise! surprise!) actually fake!
Fur is a billion dollar industry–that’s billion…
