The Awards Season has officially begun! And while umbrellas were the most popular accessory at this year’s Golden Globes, the rain didn’t stop the glitz and glamour. And while only a few celebrities dared to wear vintage, notably Julia Roberts in vintage YSL and Penelope Cruz in vintage Armani, a vintage fashionista can hold out hope that we’ll see more smashing vintage evening wear strutting down red carpets in the week’s ahead.

Wearing a vintage evening gown doesn’t guarantee that you’ll end up on a best-dressed list—you still need a discerning eye!—but reaching back to the early era of Hollywood glamour can certainly give you a fashion edge. Today’s VPOD for instance, features a lovely 1930s bias cut lame evening gown with an elegant simplicity. It’s understated enough that you notice the starlet wearing the dress first, then the dress itself.
