Mixing prints is a definite skill–both in home decor and in fashion. Some folks are naturally talented and create genius combinations and others, well, let’s just say they struggle and often come up short. And when it comes to mixing animal prints, in particular, less is most definitely more. Anyone gutsy enough to mix leopard, zebra, giraffe or other animal prints together is probably a hard-core professional.

Yet, while mixing animal prints is a general no-no, today’s VPOW breaks all the rules. This luxurious 1960s coat by Aquanala evokes the spirit of multiple animal prints without paying homage to any one of them. The colors and patterns don’t identify a particular species but instead create an overall impression that says “animal print” without actually being an animal print.

And that makes for a fabulous find for a vintage fashionista!
