I was blessed with the gift of an amazing beautiful 1940's pantsuit from a woman who modeled during that era. It was made just for her & she kept it for many years. She knew I would love it and care for it so it became mine. The outfit hung carefully wrapped in my closet until years later when I had a formal event to wear it to. That day truly began my love of vintage. I had no idea until just recently the truly wonderful vitage clothing that is available. Yesterday I bought my second vintage garment. A dreamy Hawaiian dress from the 50's that I get to wear to a themed wedding. I still have so much to learn about vintage garments and how to properly care for them but I have a feeling it's going to be a most joyful journey. I would really love a copy of this book to read. I'm currently on a 3-month R&R (recreation & reading) holiday on the shores of magnificent Lake Tahoe, & this books sounds like the perfect addition to my sublime summer sojourn!...(as would finding a Ceil or a Howard Greer dress @ the local thrift!) As both an avid reader & a vintage clothing dealer/collector, this book is sure to be an intriguing summer read!
