About a decade ago, I remember being at a formal event in NYC and walking into the powder room where a woman took me by the arm and whispered, “Your dress is the talk of the evening.” I hoped, of course, that she meant it as a compliment, but considering I was wearing an outrageously colorful peacock print maxi I wasn’t so sure.
You see, I’m well aware that not everyone likes prints—especially in evening wear. But I loooooove them! Especially when they’re as bold and beautiful as today’s VPOD.
This late 1960s to early 1970s evening gown is guaranteed to turn heads–in a good way. It’s easy to see the Hawaiian inspiration with its one-shoulder treatment and its draped placket, but its mod tropical floral print in dramatic turquoise and black gives this vintage beauty a truly modern look and feel.
It’s a definite stunner for a vintage fashionista!
