VPOD: Vintage 1960s Bold Abstract Print Blazer

vintage 1960s bold abstract print blazer

Each month I look forward to one of my favorite editorial features: Harper’s Bazaar magazine’s Fabulous at Any Age. The editors really do a fabulous job of highlighting key trends and separating key pieces appropriate for women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and yes, even 70s+!

And while you could argue that there is definite room for crossover among their selections, I believe that when it comes to age-appropriate dressing it will always come down to styling.

How you wear a piece is as important, if not more important, then the actual piece itself.

Take today’s VPOD for instance. This classically structured blazer from the 1960s packs a whole bunch of style with its bold abstract print in bright pink and royal blue.

While a 20-something can rock this baby out with tons of layering, oodles of chains, and a really expressive tee, a 40- or 50-something doing the same thing could look like she’s just trying too hard. But then again, that 40- or 50-something could glam it up with dark denim jeans, always-sexy high heels and a piece of statement jewelry that a 20-something could never afford.

That’s what makes this an ageless find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Olive Shoppe.
