While there were plenty of jewelry designers in the 1960s and 1970s who worked with enamel and copper, my personal favorite was Kay Denning. And perhaps it’s because she made sure to provide “different strokes for different folks.”
Ask any man and he’s sure to confirm that we women can be moody. Sometimes we’re in the mood for the dramatic, sometimes we’re feeling more romantic and laid back. And one way to express these different moods is with your jewelry selection.
Take today’s VPODs for instance. Both of these stunners are by Kay Denning circa 1960s to 1970s and include both a bracelet and a pin. And they both express a different side of the modern woman. The top modernist set in black and white cries “I’m bold and beautiful!” while the second pastel version murmurs something more like “I’m fun and carefree!”
And if you’re a woman who never wears pins, might I suggest that you think outside the box and pin it to a chain to create a matching pendant necklace or attach it to a barrette and use it as a hair accessory.
Then all of these pieces become fabulous little finds for a vintage fashionista!
Black and white set available at Vera Battemarco.
Pastel set available at Jennifer Lynn’s Timeless Jewelry.
Both discovered at TheFind.com.
