In just two weeks, on May 5, Mexico and America will celebrate Cinco de Mayo. And while Mexico celebrates it as a regional holiday that commemorates their army’s unlikely battle victory over the French in 1862, here in the US it’s not a legal holiday. Of course, we don’t let that little fact stop us from celebrating the culture of our Mexican Americans on that day (or perhaps just using it as an excuse to celebrate, period!).

So there’s still time to grab today’s VPOD for your personal Cinco de Mayo festivities. This vintage 1950s pin tuck & lace dress was crafted in Mexico and is the perfect accompaniment to your margarita. It shows just the barest hint of skin and is a reason to break out (and break in) those new platform sandals you bought for spring.

What a perfecto find for a vintage fashionista!

Available at Shrimpton Couture.
