Denim is the shortened version of the French term serge de nims, which described a fabric that originated in Nims, France during the Middle Ages. Yep, denim has been around that long! But since denim jeans and denim jackets have become such a common and popular part of the American wardrobe, it isn’t often that denim will turn heads. Occasionally, however, you find a piece like today’s VPOD.
This vintage late 1960s jacket was designed by the talented Roberto Cavalli and features a patchwork combination of blue denim, three printed denims and two different printed leathers. The cut is amazing and the details are sublime. Check out those enameled flowers on the snap closures and the beautiful trim on the collar and cuffs.
It’s denim heaven for a vintage fashionista!
Available at Swank Vintage.
